Charter Standard

Teams can now renew their Charter Standard for 2019-2020, it is pleasing to note that already five clubs have renewed, Billingham The Kings, Billingham The Merlin, Yarm & Eaglescliffe, RSD and The Griffin.  Many thanks to those teams for being pro-active, therefore to the other teams don’t delay get yours renewed.

For the new clubs you need to start and put this in to place, if you need a first aider then please enrol for the course next month, lack of a first aider is no excuse for not completing.  That also applies to existing clubs if you need to renew the qualification as it only lasts three years.  New Clubs need to have this completed otherwise they may not be allowed to continue within the League.

First Aid Course has been organised for Wednesday 23 October 2019 here at Elm Tree Social Club commencing at 6pm.  Application forms are available please contact League Secretary for details.  This is the only course the league will run therefore if you need to update or have someone else qualified then please organise.  There is no cost to teams in the league, North Riding teams can apply for the course and I will arrange with them re the payment.  I believe Andy Brown has emailed the DFA Clubs a form and notice of the course.

Whilst on about Charter Standard, one club failed to renew last season but have taken steps to rectify this already this season and submitted their application to Andy Brown.  One team has still not achieved their Charter Standard and this is despite hassle from me and a good amount of help, this team has been in the league about 4 years.  As a league this team is now threatening the League’s Charter Standard as they continual fail to complete therefore I am going to insist they complete and submit their application before Christmas otherwise the league is not prepared to lose its Charter Standard status and the Club will be suspended until such time as they complete.

Secretaries Report

I am starting tonight’s meeting with a moan, already had two clubs advising today that they are unable to attend meeting, this is becoming a habit, teams need to make arrangements for someone to attend these meetings.

Second point is I have to apologies over the lack of league tables and Good Conduct table this is due to the printer playing up and instead of trying to get everything done I decided to leave, league tables can be viewed on the website.  I will email a copy of the Good Conduct table out to all in the morning.

All fixtures are on the website; one change from that issued is that 27 October Billingham The Kings v Thornaby Roundel has been postponed.

With regards to the match return can you ensure this is filled in correctly with regards to the Sin Bin and Yellow card boxes, for the first offence use the first box, if a second offence then use the second box, don’t use the second box if only one card has been issued.

A reminder to those teams that play on Stockton Council pitch that the first payment is due by 10 October 2019.

Some Teams still lax in paying fines, I had to send three emails last night about non-payment of fines.

A further reminder to teams that they need to complete their player registration on the Whole Game System, this is compulsorily from next season so if you get set up now (most DFA clubs should be) it will things much easier for next season.  If you need any help then for DFA teams contact Kerry Topping and for NRCFA teams contact Donna Crowther.

Team of the Month – We will be continuing with this again this season, nothing for August as this will be included with the September award.

Cup Draws

Ian Gorman Second Round draw was carried out

Referees:     Jes is not hear tonight as he is working however there are a few points he wishes to raise with regards to player registrations, the first being when you are registering a player then you need to remember to update player details, add email address, club registering with and finally change the Registration Status from Awaiting Documentation to Ready for League to Certify this will change to colour status from Red to Amber, this will allow to use on the match return.
Teams are starting to submit a number of registrations on a Saturday, this must stop as no registrations will be done after a Friday, if you need to add after Friday then do as a match day signing on a Sunday as nothing is checked on a Saturday.  Also a reminder to text Jes with any match day signings, name, and address date of birth and club.

Transfers need to be submit by a Friday night in order to play on a Sunday, the reason being is to allow the change to be done on the website, match day transfers are not allowed, the form which must be signed by all parties along with the fee must be with Jes no later than the Friday.  Teams can scan and email transfer to Jes (again by a Friday) and submit a bank transfer but must advise Jes that a bank transfer has been done.

September has been a nightmare for referees and Jes would like to thank those clubs who have helped out by getting a referee, Jes has also managed to get referees from out of the area to help out.  To accommodate Jes has been changing referees around as late as 11-00 o’clock on a Saturday night just to make sure games are covered, referees doing us a favour which is greatly appreciated by the league.

Date of the next League Meeting is a General Meeting on Wednesday 20 November 2019.

Don’t forget the First Aid Course 23 October, if you need a form please let me know and I will email you one.

Secretaries Report

I am starting tonight’s meeting with a moan, already had two clubs advising today that they are unable to attend meeting, one on holiday and one working.  The person working advised he did not know about meeting, the date was given out at the AGM and was also posted on the website on the 10 July giving three weeks’ notice, which I believe is ample time to arrange for someone to attend if the secretary cannot.  Also all the dates were given out at the AGM in your Team envelope therefore no excuses.

Just to add that I have cancelled next week’s proposed meeting for new teams and new secretaries to go through match reports as need website to do this and nothing shows until match day.  I will advise the new teams on the match return process by email and anyone else who is new to the role and needs the information.

All fixtures are on the website; expect changes for the 1 September and the 29 September due to the DFA Sunday Cup.  We also have 2 teams Portrack & Billingham The Merlin who are taking part in the DFA Champions League this season so again games may be postponed once dates are known, will normally be same dates as DFA Sunday Cup.  NRCFA Challenge Cup is the first Sunday (October) and County cup second week.

One fixture change for Division One on 25 August St Marys v Thornaby Roundel is postponed following a request from St Marys.

New Team sheets have been issued tonight, if you have left over these can be used also, should have enough to see you through most of the season, just as a reminder, white copy to referee prior to kick off, pink copy to opponents and you retain the blue copy until the end of the season or if required by the league for any reason.  Failure to produce a team sheet will result in fixture not taking place and team charged with an unplayed game.

Due to some teams removing their details from the Club page this has led to a problem whereby telephone numbers are not showing on the Club page, as teams need to contact each other a new page under Admin has been created called Contacts, you need your login details to access so not everyone can get access to this (required under GDPR).  As for referee contact details again this is password protected, this can be found under the Members tab and the password is (*********), please do not give this password out.

The second division cup has been named as the Luke Jobson Memorial Trophy following a request made to the league and approved by the Management Committee.

For the Durham County teams just a reminder if you have not entered the Sunday Cup then tomorrow is the closing date for entries.

Also a reminder that the Team Registration form was due to be handed in tonight if not done so please send asap otherwise fine will be issued.

A note on friendlies is that teams are playing friendlies but have not registered any players with the league this means those players are not insured therefore any claims would be against the Club and the player concerned.

Team of the Month – We will be continuing with this again this season.

Cup Draws

Ian Gorman Preliminary & First Round,
John Jackson First & Second rounds,
Stephen Wells First & Second Rounds,
Luke Jobson First & Second rounds.

All of the above carried out last night..

Referees:     Jes Lambert outlined the rule changes for next season
